Home Theater Tips - Hot Trends To Take Into Consideration When Building Your Home Theater

Home theater use is at an all time high given all the streaming video choices families have these days from Netflix to Amazon to Hulu, as well as, traditional cable offerings and sports packages. Also, the price of the audiovisual equipment used in home theaters has never been more affordable. Here are some of the latest trends we're seeing in home theaters...

Multiple Screens

Some are having a large projection screen drop in front of the multiple tv screens for larger viewing when they want to focus on just one screen at a time. Most of these multi-screen rooms are in an arrangement that can function as a party room.

Hybrid Spaces

Sound and displays are the key components to making these hybrid spaces a success. People are adding more traditional furniture like sofas, chairs,  and chaise lounges in front of their screens instead of the more traditional theatre seats. Homeowners want to be able to use the room with and without the equipment being the focal point so hybrid rooms are popping up all over the country.

Integrated Social Networking

Now some of the screens will have integrated social media on them so that homeowners can update their status while watching movies, shows, and sporting events. Some smart TVs are coming with this already integrated. Some people are casting their tablets or smart phones to the screens.

Home Networking and the Internet

Networking Media (1)A great deal of our media is coming from dedicated streaming devices, smart TVs, and networking gaming consoles. Meaning that the internet is becoming our most important source for entertainment. Some research points to 1/4 of homes having an internet connected Blu-ray player this year. The current streaming quality isn't as high as Blue-ray or CD yet but that is going to improve each year. Your home networks are being pushed to their limits so having a well ordered and efficient network is crucial to having a good media room experience.

Soundbar Speakers

In-wall speakers are great for hiding equipment but when you have a more dedicated area for listening and viewing, more and more people are opting for sound bars.
